Kiwanis Club of STC

History

In October of 1935, the Kiwanis Club of St. Charles was brought into being, with twenty-five (25) charter members being inducted. The club then was similar to what it is now, in that our members come from all professions and various backgrounds. Our club will be celebrating our 90th anniversary this year.
From the very beginning, our club has always met on Tuesdays at noon. At it's peak, our membership consisted of 134 members.
St. Charles Kiwanis Club has been the guiding force in the MIssouri/Arkansas District of Kiwanis since its inception. Over the years, we have sponsored Kiwanis Cubs in St. Peters, Harvester, O'Fallon, Creve Coeur, Troy, Florissant Valley in St. Louis County and the First Capital Kiwanis Club. We have also founded an sponsored Key Clubs at St. Charles High School in 1961, Duchesne High School in 1964, and St. Charles West High School in 1981. As the results of our efforts, Lindenwood University has a very active and growing Circle K Club (now Key Club).
We have also sponsored Builders clubs at Jefferson Middle School and Saints Joachim and Ann grade school and Hardin Middle School. We also worked with elementary students in Monroe Elementary with a Terrific Club.

It is amazing what this club has done since its birth in 1935. This Club continues to grow with enthusiasm of our new members as well as our current members.
